About - Operations / Sites
Eclipse Resources operates two sites within the Perth Metropolitan Area providing services and products for acid sulphate soil remediation, hydrocarbon and pesticide bioremediation, inert waste receival, clean fill and fill sand sales.
The Abercrombie Road Resource Recovery Centre is engaged in a variety of operations, these include; acid sulphate soil remediation, hydrocarbon and pesticide bioremediation, limestone quarrying, sand quarrying, inert and clean fill back-filling, fill sand sales and premium grade water-retentive soil sales. The Resource Recovery and Site Rehabilitation operations began in April 2002. Currently the site operates limestone extraction in conjunction with systematic backfilling, embracing the principles of sequential land use and reuse / recycling. The validated clean fill and Class I inert material not suitable for higher-value reuse is being used to systematically, and under geotechnical supervision, backfill the site to its original contours. The site is being progressively rehabilitated and landscaped to be consistent with the ultimate land use. Backfill and compaction management and procedures are such that the rehabilitated site will be suitable to accommodate light steel structures within the landscaped areas ensuring a very high standard of visual presentation – as is already evident.
The Lot 12 Wanneroo Road, Neerabup Resource Recovery Centre is a former quarry which accepts clean fill, inert (Class 1) materials, green waste and acid sulphate soils for remediation. Operations resumed on the site in June 2009. Material will be accepted consistent with the "Landfill Waste Classification and Waste Definitions 1996 (as amended)" from DEC. All material entering the site will be checked to ensure compliance with the guidelines. Any material requiring testing to ensure compliance will be assessed in accordance with the relevant testing protocols. Copies of test results and vetting by the company's environmental consults are held on file at head office. No asbestos will be accepted at this site. Greenwaste will be accepted at the site and processsed as mulch by the use of a tubgrinder. Greenwaste will be used as a dry mulch after tubgrinding or processed into "composted mulch". Progressively, and when filling is completed, we will establish contour levels to emulate the landform which existed before quarrying and re-vegetate final cover with a mix of plant species to provide optimum conditions for re-establishing a functional ecosystem comparable with the adjacent Neerabup National Park.
